The Wabash Kiwanis Club is excited to announce its first-ever trivia fundraiser to benefit Riley Children’s Health.

The event, informally titled KYTE (Kiwanis Yearly Trivia Event) NYTE, will feature an evening of competitive pub-style trivia for teams and individuals in the community, while also supporting a key statewide partner in Riley, with 100-percent of proceeds going straight to the statewide pediatric healthcare system.

Doors will open for the event at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 28, at the Wabash Elks Lodge, 225 W. Main St., Wabash, with trivia beginning at 7:30. The event is in conjunction with the lineup of activities at Wabash Founders Festival.

KYTE NYTE guests must be 18 years or older to participate. Formal registration will open later this summer.

Individuals can participate and be placed with a team upon arrival to the event. Cost is $20 each. Teams of up to 8 people are $150. Sponsorships are also available for businesses or organizations at $200, with benefits such as a complimentary team, recognition during the event, preferred seating, etc.

Drinks and food will be available through the venue the night of the event. Trivia will include 8 categorical rounds of 10 questions each. Other fun fundraising components for the night are being planned as well, including grand prizes for the winning team.

“As someone who shares trivia with our members every week during our lunch meetings, this seemed like a fun way to once again get the community involved in accomplishing our mission of making the world better one child and one community at a time,” Wabash Kiwanis Trivia Chairman Eric Seaman said. “We have a five-person committee who’s committed to not only making this as beneficial as possible for Riley, but also as fun as possible for our guests who will hopefully kick off an annual event with our Club.”

Riley Children’s Health promotes itself as Indiana’s largest and most-skilled pediatric system, with more than 50 locations statewide. The Indiana State District of Kiwanis has been a long-time annual partner of Riley, preceding even the original hospital being built.

For more information about the event, please contact Seaman at [email protected] or 260-274-1432, or message the Wabash Kiwanis Club on Facebook.

Wabash Kiwanis has supported and continues to support youth- and community-focused initiatives like the Eagles Theatre renovation, FAME Festival, the Honeywell Summer Arts Camps (formerly VPA) and Arts in Education programs, the Wabash County Scholarship Pageant, the Wabash High School volleyball team’s Kills for a Cure fundraiser, and much more.

The Wabash Kiwanis Club is an individual organization that’s part of Kiwanis International, whose mission is to improve the world one child and one community at a time.
